U. S. Health Care System Rated Very Poor
America spends a much higher percentage of it's money on health care than any other industrialized nation. And yet it has the worst life expectency and highest infant mortality rate, according to a study by the non-profit and non-partisan Commonwealth Fund.
This study is something to chew on for those who are opposed to a system of national health care, where every citizen is provided with medical insurance. The opposition claims such a system would mean worse and more expensive health care. But the experience of other nations says otherwise.
You can read the details in "U.S. Health-Care System Gets a "D." by Catherine Arnst.

Yeah, so some poor people get sick and die and lose their babies. They're poor so who cares? That seems to be the way the rich medicos feel.

I had good care when I was in hospital, especially from my sponge bather, Nurse Devine Stripling. Now theres's somebody who should do it for a living.

A lot of people don't even have medical insurance. And were supposed to be the richest nation on earth? What the hell are we spending our money on?

America is spending its money on war and killing innocent people. And that includes its own people.
Right now Robert Anton Wilson is on his death bed and wants to die peacefully at home. But even though he was a very successful author, his medical bills have skyrocketed and he can't afford his own rent. Is this America?

This is just awful! How can this be true in America? People are greedy and want everything for themselves. But it doesn't work. Because if you won't do things for other people then they won't do things for you.

The Health System is a complete Diaster. I see people who really need help and aren't getting it while the rich get full medical and demand more tax breaks so they can afford their lifestyle. Lets fix the system now!

Wasn't it Ebenezer Scrooge who said of the poor, why not let them die and decrease the surplus population? So is that what America has become, a nation of Scrooge's? Scrooge got better in the end. Let's hope America does too.
