If Adolf Hitler's parents had been gay, we never would have had Adolf Hitler. That's another reason against gay marriage.

I don't know what kind of Rev. Bootie is but he's definately not Christian! The Bible outlaws gay marriage. The only marriage permitted is between one man and one woman. Adam and Eve were created that way. That's God's plan. Anything else is Satanic and an Abomination Before God!

The Bible only allows monogamous marriage? Then how do you explain Abraham, Moses, King David, Isaac, Jacob Israel, etc? The Bible promotes polygamy, not monogamy.

Ditto to Binky's comments.

I will add the question, why is the state in control of marriage anyway? Not all states have had control of matrimony. Yes, there's the matter of custody of any children, finances, etc. But those could all be handled by contract. There could even be a standard contract that would include these rights. Something to consider.

I can tell you why gay marriage is wrong. Because it says so in the Bible. If you don't believe the Bible, your going to Hell. So your opinion ain't going to account for much, is it?

Gay marriage is bad because they can't have any children without adopting. If we get more kids adopted we'll have fewer kids in orphanages, which could put them out of business! Gay is not good for business!

I like reason #10; that children need both a male and female parent.

Hogwash.

Fish, turtles, and crocodiles lay their eggs and leave their offspring to their fate.

No parents whatsoever.

Some are even eaten by their own parents.

Some birds pair bond, but research has shown the babies to have different fathers. So the male of the nest is raising another male's babies.

Felines, with the possible exception of lions, are raised exclusively by the mothers without any help from the fathers at all. In fact mother cats are known to attack with near berserker fury any other creature, including the fathers, that come near their cubs or kittens.
I have read that the cat is the perfect modern land predator.

I have a proposal.
Care to take it up?
Care to see what YOU'RE made of?
Care to see if you've got what it takes?
Care to match your skills against nature's perfect predator?

To those of you who posted negative comments against gay marriage and single parenting, I am throwing down a challenge to you.
I dare you, if you have the b***s, to face down a Siberian tiger mother with her cubs and tell her that her single parenting her cubs is wrong because the Bible says so. The Siberian tiger is the biggest cat ever, is extremely fast, can climb trees, AND swim. And will defend her cubs to the death...of you.
The various species of tigers are among the various species of big cat known to eat people.
So, go ahead. Thump your Bible at the tiger and tell her she's immoral.
Let's see if that book you revere so much will save you when that tiger charges.

In primate societies, the whole group is responsible for taking care of their young.
The bonobo apes (which you may have read about in other parts of this website and are a type of chimp) engage in behavior that many consider immoral for humans...and they have at least 97% + of OUR DNA.

Now, if these animal species can survive and thrive in ways that are not approved of in the Bible, what makes humans so special, so different, so...delicate?

Why must we always be trying to decieve ourselves that the laws of nature do not apply to us?
Why must we be the exception?

That's what the Bible teaches.
That we humans are separate from all other life.

We're not.
When a disaster strikes, we die just like the other animals.

It's time to recognize that we are all part of the biosphere called Earth and that it has to follow the rules of the Solar System, which, in turn, follows the Galaxy which obeys the rules of the Universe.

Each of us is smaller to the Universe than an atom is to each of us, but the fact that we exist is proof that we are an intrinsic part of the Universe. It's time to stop kidding ourselves that we can cheat the system.

I've heard Christains call themselves "Men of God".
But can you call yourself a MAN?
Can you do it without resorting that eclectic collection of ancient texts?

Can you stand on your own two feet and face down nature with just your body and brain?

Can you?

(Due to our possibly inane policy, we had to censor one word in this commentary. Sorry, but we really have to follow our own rules.)
