Lawyers for Troy Anthony Davis Want Rejected Testimony Accepted
Lawyers for Troy Anthony Davis. who was convicted of murder, want a judge to accept rejected testimony that named someone else as the killer.
U.S. District Judge William T. Moore Jr. had refused to consider testimony in a hearing last month that someone else had confessed to killing Savannah, Georgia officer Mark MacPhail in 1989. Troy Davis was convicted of the killing in 1991 based on the testimony of witnesses, many of whom recanted their testimony in the hearing and said they were coerced by the police. No physical evidence against Davis was ever presented.
UPDATE
Davis' attorneys said attorneys for the state failed to give any legal backing for their objection to the alledged confession by Sylvester "Redd" Coles to the killing for which Davis was convicited. http://beta.savannahnow.com/latest-news/2010-08-04/state-missed-boat-troy-davis-team-argues

The judge didn't accept testimony that someone else might be the murderer? That's crazy! What kind of justice system is this?

He's been in prison for years thinking any day he could get killed. Isn't that punishment enough?

Jane, it's not punishment enough if he's guilty of murder. The Bible says "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth." If you murder someone, you deserve to be killed. But if he's innocent, then he should be freed.

Hadn't heard about this case, but yeah. Looks like if Davis trial were reheld theres no way he'd be convicted. Whats wrong with the police they didnt figure that out the first time? Government doesn't care if your innocent or guilty they just want to convict somebody.

Randy you talk about the government like it's one person. There are good Christian people in government who do care. I care what happens to him. If he's innocent, he should be let free. If he's guilty, he should be executed.
