Judge Striked Down California's Proposition 8 Against Gay Marriage
A federal judge not only struck down California's Proposition 8 (2008), which disallowed same-sex marriage. But the ruling not only said that homosexual marriage should be allowed, it challenged the very concept of gay marriage.
U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker essentially said that marriage is an established institution. The genders of each member of the couple are no longer a legal issue.
"The evidence shows that the movement of marriage away from a gendered institution and toward an institution free from state-mandated gender roles reflects an evolution in the understanding of gender rather than a change in marriage. The exclusion exists as an artifact of a time when the genders were seen as having distinct roles in society and in marriage. That time has passed."
The decision is already being challenged in court, and will not have an immediate affect on same-sex marriages in California. Because a previous decision had allowed same-sex marriage in California, some gay and lesbian couples were married before Proposition 8 passed.

The issues here are large and many.
Is homosexusl marriage right or wrong?
Should it be legal or illegal?
Should the issue be decided by states or by the federal government?
If a marriage is recognized by one state, should other states recognize that marriage?
If you move from a state that accepts your marriage and move to one that doesn't, does that make you divorced?

Can we forget about a messed up legal system and liberal judges for a moment and focus on what's right and wrong? A man marrying a man is wrong, and an abomination before God. Men and women are meant to be together to procreate, to "be fruitful and multiply." Two men can't do that, and two women can't do that. That's the way God made nature work. A husband and a wife.

Let's hope we're coming to time when it's not illegal to love.

Why's the state involved in marriage anyway? Marriage is an arrangement between whoever and how ever many. It's there business not the governments. The only reason the states involved is so they can tax you for everything you do. Get them out.

Yes people we simply cannot allow abominations to exist in this world. There are 67 times that the Bible mentions abonimations in the Old Testament and only two of these are about homosexuality. Some of the things that are an abomination are 1) Eating Clam Chowder or Shrimp (Lev 11:10-19), 2) Winged insects that go on all fours (Lev 11:20), 3) Making graven images (Deut 7:25), 4) Love of Money (Luke 16:15), 5) Women may not wear pants (Deut 22:5), 6) Dishonest Trade (Mentioned 4 times), 7) Lying (Prov 12:22), 8) Being Arrogant (16:5), 9)Adultery (Three times). If you want this information look up "Putting Abonimations Into Perspective" by Linda A. Malcor.

I think that we should allow gay couples to marry. Though my brother thinks that mairrage in any form is a crock and doesn't work.

It is not illegal to love in America. What was illegal everywhere was a man marrying a man and a woman marrying a woman. What will be next? Adults marrying children? Polygamy? Incest? People marrying their pets? It has to stop somewhere, and the place to stop is one man and one woman.
