Are You Smarter Than a Fox News Viewer?
This one is primarily for Americans, but anyone can take this quiz. World Public Opinion, which is managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland did some checking. They created a survey and tested to see how viewers of Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, newspapers, network TV news, and public broadcasting compared in their knowledge of issues critical to the U.S.A.
The study found "substantial levels of misinformation were present in the daily consumers of all news sources." But the winner for most misinformed were regular Fox News viewers. In fact based on the questions asked, the study seems to show that the more you watch Fox News, the less you know.

By the way, my score was 10 out of 11. To be honest, on the one I missed my initial reaction was the correct answer, but I foolishly changed it. But on a couple of the others I wasn't terribly sure. So I actually felt quite certain on about 8 out of 11.

I didn't do very well. I need to change where I get my news! What do you use?

I get most of my news online but I don't stick with just one source. The Associated Press, Christian Science Monitor, and NPR are usually pretty good. I get a lot of useful information from the openly-biased ACLU which I then check with otherly-biased sources. If I find a story that is subject to bias (meaning just about every story) that I'm very interested in, I try to check sources that have varying slants. That way the Conservative/Liberal/etc. slants tend to balance out. -Alden Loveshade

It seem that there are two views of the world. Reality and the Fantasy World that Rupert Murdock is putting on Fox news.

I don't follow politics all that much except for social issues so I guessed on some too! I got 8 right.

I watch CNN and I didn't score very well. Those questions are tough.

Have you looked at the questions? They're biased. And you can't say someone knows less because they watch the news.

Hand picking questions to make Fox News viewers look bad is not a fair survey. I watch Fox News and I learn more and its more entertaining. Watch CNN a lot and you'll fall asleep at the wheel.

I get my news online.

Yeah, Tom, questions are biased. They hand picked questions to look for people who have a clue.
