16 September (Thursday)

I hadn't gotten to see my friends since Tuesday morning, but today I got picked
up by
Lorien and Mindy.  I thought I would have to drive out to see them, but
didn't.  I learned they went to Six Flags yesterday, and heard about their trip.

They like me are concerned about the relationship between Tim and Yvette.  But
Lorien wanted to talk more about es relationship with Berkeley.  Berkeley is es
is on a sort of "hiatus" right now.  I noticed that Lorien was primarily Lorien
wanted to talk more about es relationship with Berkeley.  Berkeley is es
speaking in terms of Berkeley's needs and desires and not es own, and perhaps a
speaking in terms of Berkeley's needs and desires and not es own, and perhaps a
bit undiplomatically pointed that out.  Lorien said I was right, and said, "I
know, I have to think what do I want."  Mindy agreed.

Lorien called herself, "the world's oldest girl with a
V-card," with "a V-card"
apparently being a synonym for "virginity."  Of course at the age of 22 that is
more than a slight exaggeration.  Again, I asked, "What do you want?"  Lorien
said e think e wants to make love to Berkeley, but is afraid of how Berkeley
will act afterward and of not being able to "do it right."  Mindy, who is also
inexperienced, said that's why e's glad e doesn't have a sother.

We got something to eat, then headed for Tim and Yvette's.  I learned that Greg
and Ima have been gone and will be gone for another day or two in the motor
home having their "second honeymoon."  I also learned Mindy is still getting
straight A's at college, which didn't surprise me as e was salutatorian of es
high school graduating class, and Lorien is now getting A's.

Lorien had majored in English with an official minor in Psychology if it can be
official before you graduate, but is now studying to be an elementary school
teacher.  Because of the switch, Lorien has another year to go before earning a
bachelor's degree, and plans to graduate in 2011.  Mindy is beginning es junior
year as a chemistry major, but may be changing to religious studies or another
major.

Later Dolly, who's one of Vickie's closest friends, her husband Joey and their
three kids came over.  Dolly is 19 and married to Joey, 22 (Lorien, Mindy,
Mindy's family and I went to their wedding three years ago).  Their three kids
are daughter Clara who's 5 (Joey's adopted daughter), son Craig who's 2 but
turns 3 this month, and son Jodie who recently turned a year old and whom I
haven't seen before.  "Craig" is also the name of the late brother of Joey
who's possibly the biological father of Clara; because of what a psychic told
them they believe their son is Joey's brother reincarnated.

Dolly seems to have little control over Clara or Craig, but they listen to
Joey.  They still live with Claire, who is Dolly's mother and a cousin of Fiona
and Lisa, whom I hope to see.  So many people in this area are related to each
other that's it's said you'd better be careful what you say about someone
behind their back because there's a real good chance you'll be talking to their
cousin.

Yvette, I think because of Tim, cut short the visits.  I made a only half-
joking but semi-sarcastic comment that I wondered where I was going to sleep.
I understand that Greg and Ima wanted to have the motor home to themselves and
I'm glad they got the chance to use it.  But it made finding a place to sleep
other than the floor rather difficult.  Dolly said we could stay at es place,
which I know would be crowded, but we did say we'd visit.  I got a hug from
Dolly, Clara and Craig, and then they left.

Lorien and Mindy decided they wanted to play a roleplaying game, so I reffed
them in
GURPS.  I was only semi-prepared, but let them play a couple characters
I had already designed in an area I was fairly familiar with.  Nobody else
seemed terribly interested, except Allen who wanted to spend a session hacking
monsters and grabbing their treasure, while Lorien and Mindy wanted to do a lot
of true roleplaying "with romance."  So Lorien, Mindy and I played.  They
haven't done much table-top roleplaying but seemed to enjoy it and it went well.

Vickie spent the night with a friend, Lorien and Mindy stayed in Vickie's room,
and I was going to sleep on the couch.  But it was rather uncomfortable so I
ended up sleeping in a sleeping bag.

17 September (Friday)

Things went from bad to worse.  Yvette was in a bad mood, Tim ignored us,
Vickie was gone, Josh was at school, and Allen was doing something that
bothered Mindy, but I didn't learn what or why until later.  I could tell Mindy
was rather irked at being left while es mom and dad were gone, but Mindy didn't
complain other than to drop small hints.

We stopped by Pam and Marcy's for a short while, but they couldn't visit long
as they're going on a short trip.  They said they were sorry we couldn't use
their swimming pool, but it wasn't in condition to swim in.  It's an above
ground pool that has seen better days.  They said they're planning to get a new
one.

We had an open invitation to visit Claire, Dolly, Joey, etc., and also to visit
Fiona, Lisa, Dave, etc.  As Claire's place is quite close, we went there.
Claire, Dolly, Clara, Craig and Jodie were there; Joey was at work.  Claire
told me e wished I'd visit more often and Dolly invited me to Craig's birthday
party, which was nice even though I haven't been there in quite a while.  They
wanted me to hold Jodie, which in my current condition was difficult.  But they
put Jodie on my lap anyway, and then e spit up on me.  Then after that was more-
or-less cleaned up e needed es diaper changed, which I think Mindy took care of.

Lorien, Mindy and I next went to Fiona, Lisa and Dave's house.  Fiona and es
younger sister Lisa are cousins of Claire and Dolly, and Fiona has been friends
with Yvette, although apparently they aren't as close as they used to be.  Dave
is Fiona's sother.  Lisa has three kids, son Buddy who's 12, daughter Crissy
who's 11, and daughter Randi who's 2.  Buddy and Crissy were at school when we
got there, Dave was at work and Lisa was gone somewhere, but we saw Fiona and
Randi.

We talked for a while, then Fiona showed us their bird family; we'd seen their
birds before, but they have a new macaw and some new smaller birds.  The birds
have their own room which can get pretty noisy, but then I'm fairly used to
that.  Fiona noticed one of their parakeets was standing on the bottom of its
cage instead of its perch.  Birds will of course do that sometimes, but it
didn't seem to be moving very much.   I know some of the basics of animal care
but am not an expert, but I said the blue and yellow bird looked like it had an
injured left foot.  I had to admit that my knowledge of birds didn't extend to
treating hurt feet.  After assuring Fiona we could keep an eye on Randi, Fiona
took the bird to the vet.

They have a large house with a built-in swimming pool in back and a little bit
of lawn with a high fence for privacy.  Everyone there swims including Randi,
who was born in water.  I'd heard about the technique, which some believe is
easier on the mother and the baby, but I know it has some controversy.  Randi
seems to be doing fine, and is even potty trained in a manner of speaking--
after the fact I learned they use a method used in parts of Europe where if
you're outside you do your business outside, as Randi did.  Mindy later
demonstrated es support for the practice.

Lorien loves the water, and it wasn't long before Lorien and I went swimming.
While we were told Randi could swim, we decided to wait until Fiona got back to
let her in the pool, so Mindy kept an eye on Randi.  Mindy said Lorien and I
should practice em riding piggy back so we could have a competition later.  But
I was very hesitant about doing that with my injury, so I said they could when
others were there.

Buddy and Crissy got home from school and joined us, and this time we all got
in the pool, so for a while it was Lorien, Mindy, Buddy, Crissy, Randi, and
myself.  We all wore traditional pre-17th century swimwear, as did Lorien and I
earlier.  I knew from earlier visits that is the norm there.  Crissy got Randi
in the water right away and without asking permission, but I suppose e didn't
have to ask as its their house and that's their usual pattern.  They wanted to
have a piggyback rider competition, but I said it might be better if we waited
for Fiona to come back.

Lorien and I talked for a little while about life, the universe, and
everything.  Much of it had to do with dating and relationships.

Fiona brought the bird back and said the vet told em it had bumble foot, but it
was caught early so the bird whose name I forget could have a full recovery.
The bird's foot was wrapped and she had some vitamins and an antibiotic.

I learned Fiona, Lisa and Dave (and Buddy and Crissy) have left Satyrian's
group; I thought they had, but had gotten mixed reports.  They are thinking
about joining another group.   Many people from our group had left es group
too, although quite a while back.  Fiona simply said they had some differences,
but wouldn't give details.  That got me thinking about my group, and its
virtual isolation which many of us do not favor.  We used to have visitors, but
haven't had any in quite a while.

I had to clear up a rumour that Lorien and I are responsible for; apparently
Fiona believed we were a "couple" if not married.  The fact Lorien and I were
"together" when Fiona returned probably helped fuel the image.  I explained the
April Fool's joke, which had spread beyond the people we sent it to.  Fiona had
wondered why the marriage wasn't mentioned in an online blog.

I was very pleased with something that happened that completely surprised me.
I've only been able to straighten by working and stretching and applying
pressure.  I haven't been able to bend much either.  But Mindy and Fiona both
massaged me, and after Fiona worked on me I could bend more than I have since I
was injured!  It was a very significant improvement.

Randi seems to almost have three mothers; Lisa, Fiona and Crissy.  They all
took care of Randi.  I'm honestly not sure who the father is, and didn't ask.

In the evening Lorien, Mindy, Fiona, Lisa, Dave, and myself used the hot tub.
We got into a discussion about Lorien and Mindy's group, my group, and the
others' former group.  Mindy brought a cloved lemon, so we played  the Cloved
Lemon Kissing Game.  Mindy gave it to me first, then I gave it to Lorien, etc.
Mindy said something about seeing the guys kiss and so did Lorien, but I
learned Dave and apparently Lisa are strictly heterosexual.  I did kiss all the
females in the tub.  I also saw a demonstration that Lorien and Mindy's former
prohibition of doing "Frenchies" with each other is over.  Buddy and Crissy
played the game later.

We talked about relationships, relatives, and "kissing cousins."  Apparently
Allen was flirting with es cousin Mindy.  I'm confused on what constitutes a
second cousin or cousin removed.  But as Yvette is Greg's older sister, Mindy
is Greg's daughter and Allen is Yvette's son, Allen and Mindy are first
cousins.  I said first cousins can even get married in some states, although I
thought Texas didn't allow it.  (I checked.  A law was passed recently that
apparently was directed at the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints that disallows first cousin marriage.  There is no significant
evidence that children produced between first cousins have any more genetic
problems than others, but laws are often made by emotion and the public’s
perceived mood, not by facts and rational thinking).

I said I doubted very much there was any law against kissing, and I knew first
cousins could get married in some states and it was considered the norm in much
of the world.  Mindy said, "He doesn't want to marry me just kiss me!" which
got some people laughing including me.

Then we got talking about various forms of marriage, ageism, and other social
issues.

We had something of a 60s-style "sleep-in" that was reminiscent of the co-ed
sleepovers of the original Ek-sen-triks CluborGuild, with everyone
participating but Dave and Lisa.  Fiona led the set up, with so much padding
underneath us that the floor felt more padded than a mattress.  I also got
outfitted with something to cover my brace that I have to wear when I'm
sleeping because I didn't think it would make someone feel too good if I rolled
over and bopped them with it.
